Do we really want to hand music, the most human act there is, over to a machine with zero skin in the game? AI doesn't write from a broken heart or pure joy; it just patterns data. When streaming platforms open the floodgates to infinite AI output, the signal gets buried in noise.
Real musicians have skin in the game. They invest years, money, and their actual emotional lives into their work. An algorithm risks nothing. When it fails, what does it lose? Nothing. But when a platform lets a million algorithmically generated songs flood in, actual human artists get pushed out of discovery queues. Listeners can't find the stories behind the songs anymore.
The whole system becomes fragile. It breaks under the stress of abundance without meaning. I'm not saying ban AI everywhere—just keep the town square for the humans.
