My worldview is the Christian orthodox worldview. i argue that to have knowledge. you need preconditions of knowledge such as transcendental categories. and those things are the things my opponent will be trying to justify. if the world is purely matter and motion. how does knowledge exist what is knowledge what grounds it if everything is under transcendental categories what grounds the categories. now if he says "it is all matter and motion" he agreed knowledge is impossible because it is a metaphysical concept. and if he says "metaphysical things exist as well as matter and motion." then he will have to justify metaphysical claims without appealing to a deity.

A lot of people trust a bridge because engineers test materials and calculations, not because a god guarantees it. That seems like everyday grounding to me, just shared checks and correcting mistakes. I am not sure how else to put it, but knowledge seems to work that way.

just saying "knowledge seems to work that way" is not a justification to how knowledge is possible at all. and appealing to a hypothetical assumes the thing in question. what is a bridge? what correlation does a bridge have to do with an engineer. that is not answering my epistemic question

But what actually grounds a bridge's safety except people testing, sharing results, and catching errors? My opponent makes a fair point about categories, and I honestly am not sure how to answer that. Still, my gut says knowledge is grounded in that shared checking, god or no god.
