The real question isn't whether phones can cause problems, because they can. It's whether a blanket ban is the right answer, and it isn't. The other side is treating phones as pure danger, but they're also tools: a kid calling a parent, using a map, looking up homework, learning to spot misinformation. A ban doesn't teach judgment, it just delays it until kids are older and unsupervised. Imagine a child who's never been guided on phone use suddenly getting one at 15. That's worse. Limits, rules, and supervision make more sense than pretending the technology doesn't exist.
