Good morning, respected judges, teachers, and fellow students. My team is propositions. We agree that students should be allowed to spend less time on screen. Today, we are here to debate the motion children should spend less time on screen. I am the first speaker of the proposition team and I strongly support this motion. Before presenting, our team has two main arguments. First, we should spend less time on screen but also outdoor. And finally, we should use more screens because if we look or watch something, that the screen for one hour, it can affect your eyes. First argument, this is we believe that spending less time on screen is good for us like 30 minutes a day. Also, if we watch too much screen, time to your eyesight will increase and you will wear glasses forever. And also, if we want to play outside, you feel relaxed and play with your friends. This helps you keep away from screen for 35%. Second argument.

The other side gets the unit wrong. Screen time lumps a video call with a grandparent, a coding game, and endless autoplay into one number, then assumes less of that number is better. But that's not how cause and effect works. What matters is what the screen replaces and what it delivers. Passive scrolling that displaces sleep is bad. Interactive learning or connecting with faraway family can be good. A blanket less rule can push kids toward lower-quality use, not better development. Sure, excess passive use deserves limits, but the honest target is content and context, not minutes.

Second argument, this is belief that using more screen time is very bad for us sometimes. Your brain will get damaged and forget something. That you want to say something you always forget. If a kid cuts 20 good minutes just to hit an arbitrary cap, nothing improves. And the claim that screens damage the brain or cause forgetting is asserted, not shown. Target breaks, distance, sleep, and content. Minutes alone are a poor proxy.
