So someone says Republicans hate change, and sure, plenty of them do oppose good ideas just because a Democrat proposed them. But that cuts both ways, doesn't it? Democrats dig in just as hard on their own sacred cows. The real problem isn't which tribe is worse, it's that the whole Democrats versus Republicans setup makes us defend a team instead of evaluating policies on their merits. A voter who cares about climate and balanced budgets gets stuck choosing a package deal. You're not voting for good ideas, you're voting for a brand. That's why I'm against this whole framing.
