College athletes obviously should be paid as they trained so hard just to represent their schools and make them proud.They went countless of challenges,juggling studies with practising,sacrificing their free time to practise to be better and not let their school down.Becasue of so many things,and alll that they did they must be paid

Look, I get the appeal of paying college athletes. It sounds fair on the surface. But the whole argument misses what college sports actually are. These aren't professional leagues — they're educational programs. Most athletes are getting scholarships worth tens of thousands of dollars, plus top-tier coaching, training facilities, and academic support. That's already a massive benefit.
The real issue is that only a tiny fraction of athletes ever go pro. Paying everyone would destroy the model for non-revenue sports like swimming or track. Schools would have to cut them. And honestly, how do you even decide who gets paid? The star quarterback and the bench warmer on the same team? That gets messy fast.
I think the current system isn't perfect, but paying players turns amateur sports into a business. That's not what college should be about.

The against team are blinded by the fact that by paying them might seem like going into business,but this can also be a chance to prepare college students for the realworld,to let them learn that without hardwork,nothing can be done.It also let them have a taste of how it is like to be a professional athlete,which will provide them a good chance if they want to do the job in the future,it also allows the country to produce bettter quality players as paying them will movtivate them,even if it is just a few cents.They will feel valued and will be more motivated in practising

The scholarship argument only works if you ignore reality. Most athletes on full rides still can't afford basic living expenses. That's not a fair trade — it's a PR move by the schools.
But here's the thing I keep coming back to: who exactly gets paid? The quarterback bringing in millions for the school? Sure, that makes sense. But the gymnast who's spending just as many hours training with zero revenue? Or the field hockey player? You're either paying everyone or you're picking winners and losers based on money. That's not fairness, that's just another version of the same broken system.
And honestly, once you start paying, you lose the whole amateur model. You'd have to deal with contracts, agents, collective bargaining. That's not college anymore — that's minor league sports with a classroom attached. I'd rather keep the focus on education.

Paying need not be per hour or like a contract in the real working world. As i previously mentioned, the athletes are paid like they are in the workplaces. Instead, they are paid for their achievements for their hardwork. As we know student athletes work really hard to achive successes for their schools, they should be recognised for this. The school should recognise their hardwork, dont you think? I already mentioned this countless of times, we pay all atheletes all the school athletes we don’t pay them based on their achievements for the school. We pay them as a form of recognition that the school sees the hardwork they put into training. Thats how we pay them. And may think, if so, those student athletes who actually achieved fantastic results in competitions may find this system unfair. Thats when we pay these atheletes extra. But the minimum is all atheletes are paid thr same for their hardwork

You keep saying paying them would prepare them for the real world, but that's backwards. The real world doesn't pay you just for showing up and trying hard. It pays you for what you produce. Most college athletes aren't producing anything the market values. The women's volleyball team isn't bringing in TV revenue.
And this idea that paying them "a few cents" will motivate them? Come on. Either you're paying real money or you're just making a symbolic gesture that creates more problems than it solves. What happens when the bench player gets 50 cents and the star gets 50 grand? You think that builds team chemistry?
You're asking colleges to turn into minor league franchises. But most athletic departments already lose money. They'd have to cut the very sports you're saying these athletes sacrifice for. That doesn't help anyone.
