Lifeguards are suposed to look out for each other and make sure everyone is doing what they are suposed ot be doing. If another lifeguard is sitting unprofessionally and another lifeguard sees it, they should have the right to correct their position, especially since they got in trouble for doing the same thing.

Sure, the supervisor has the real authority, and my opponent has a fair point. But it seems odd that equals can never speak up at all. If a lifeguard sees another about to miss something unsafe, just saying hey, watch that, feels like safety, not bossing. I am not sure how else to put it.

That's exactly my point. The other lifeguard instad of complying instead tryed insulting me as a joke. When I talked to her about it., she said trhat I broke the rules because I was yelling infront of patronts to correct herself. however, no one was even looking, and the partronsd didnt' even care. It was she she started yelling back that they noticed. Another lifeguard beside her also instigated and made the situeation worse. She laims she was joking, but this is not the time to be jjoking when you are ON DECK watching the pool.
