Yes, I think that social media should be regulated because, like any public utility, because social media is a dangerous platform. It is a tool that helps us to express ourselves, but at the same time it manipulates people, especially young children, into promoting agendas which otherwise would have been indifferent to them. It makes them more manipulated and influenced by topics which they should not care about and they should focus on living their life and making the best out of the time that they have been given to us. Because time is the most scarce issue that is given to us humans. And I think that social media does more harm than good. And the basic problem with social media is that everyone claims that it is a good platform for exchanging ideas. But if you look at the data, the statistics, we see that people are becoming more eccentric, people are becoming more biased in their views Instead of welcoming new ideas and opinions, I think that regulating social media would ensure that this new change can be brought so that people become more fluid in their views and opinions. The basic problem with social media is that people claim that it should be free to express more so that people can express themselves more freely but I just do not see its effect and it just sounds like an imaginary fantasy with no practical implication.

When we are talking about free expression, then we should be particular and we should really see this topic of free expression because I think that many times when people use the term free expression, they tend to overlook what it means and just dwell on the surface level meaning of free expression. So let's look at what free expression really means. So you are a person, you want to express something. What is that you want to express, freely express that can't be expressed in your real life and does expressing a thing really have any impact on your life? Suppose, in some cases, if you look at it, you belong to a very suppressed part of the community and you have to raise your voice against some agenda, then social media does provide a conducive platform. But think about it. Even when government will regularize or just regulate it like any public community, we will obviously overlook these things that genuinely needs. We will just we will carefully look into this thing that genuinely needs attention and it would be that we will remove it. We will suppress people voice because that the whole point that I trying to raise When we will regulate it we will make sure that there is no propaganda first of all Second of all that people who genuinely are in need of expression they can express it Because 90 of this thing that we call free expression is just an agenda or propaganda that is being imposed on people If today I take 90% of phones away from people, then it won't create a huge change in their life. By change I mean the negative impact. It won't have any negative impact. Why? Because even if people, 90% of people who are living in metropolitan cities or any tier 2, tier 3 cities like in India, they won't have any negative impacts or repercussions of it. The only repercussions that they will have is what is known as withdrawal symptoms because their people are addicted to it. And I think that people tend to treat these social media platforms as a good medium of having constructive debates. But I am sorry that no constructive debates or at least 90% of the debates that happen in social media are just people trying to bend their anger. People tend to be irrational while expressing their thoughts. So I think that this notion of free expression is just reactionary expression that we are talking about. And I think that that's why regulating this social media will do more good than harm to the people.

That's what I'm trying to say that we are trying to regularize or regulate it and we are trying to impose some rules so that it becomes a platform that is more constructive and more creative than being a force of destruction and dividing people. I think that social media should be a platform where people should discuss not whatever reactionary things that come to their mind but people genuinely respond to things by careful examination and using their faculty of rationality that is given to us. I think that our limbic system is more active when we are on social media rather than our prefrontal cortex. So I think I think that when it is being regulated by the government, I think that these things should then be taken care of.
