Okay, first of all, returning artifacts to their countries of origin contributes to the decolonization process. Stolen artifacts are part of historical injustice and that needs to be put right. Also the artifacts that we stole are part of cultural identity of that country, so they should be presented in that country and not in the country that colonized them years ago. It is part of recognition and it shows respect to the countries because we are not what we used to be.

It is a false statement that countries of origin are not keeping the art they have there safe. There are a lot of successful museums who preserve the art very well. And they should just have the right to keep their own art and show people of their country the art of their country.
