Practically, if 18-year-olds could drink legally, they'd be doing it in the same high schools as 15 and 16-year-olds, and that just makes it way too easy for younger kids to get alcohol. I know turning 18 makes you an adult, but I still feel weird about that.

But isn't it true that a lot of 18-year-olds are still hanging around high schoolers? Even if they're legally adults, they're in the same social circles as younger kids, and lowering the limit just makes it easier for those kids to get drinks. I still can't get past that.

Think about a high school party where an 18-year-old senior brings beer, and suddenly the 15-year-olds are getting wasted too. That happens a lot. And yeah, the military argument makes sense, I just can't get past the high school problem. I feel like 21 keeps everyone safer.
