Abortion is wrong. If you don't want to have a child, then don't have sex. That's the clear answer to it. If you want to go religious, we can say that, you know, God said before you were in the womb, I know you. I knew you. So basically saying that they are human, they were created in the image of God, so they get the same rights as any other human being.

I'm not really sure how my opponent's point about Jesus connects to abortion, and I admit I don't know how to answer it. I still just feel a heartbeat means a life worth protecting, and ending that seems wrong, even if I can't fully explain why.

Here's the frame I'd use: this isn't a vote on whether abortion is sad, or whether my opponent's God knows us in the womb. It's about whether the state gets to force someone through pregnancy. My opponent says "don't have sex," but that's a bumper sticker, not a policy—contraception fails, assault happens, health goes sideways. A religious claim can guide your own choices; it can't run someone else's body. That's why I'm still against calling abortion wrong as a legal rule.
