A surprising fact is that many people don’t realize how early a heartbeat can be detected. That sticks with me, and it’s why I lean against abortion. I know the other side makes fair points about tough cases, and I’m honestly not sure how to argue back, but my gut says it’s still a life.

While a heartbeat can be detected a while before the birth date, Scientifcally it has been proven that the fetus does not have any sense of feeling until the third trimester which is when they are born. They cannot die if they have not lived, while this claim can be easily deterred with scientific evidence, it is all about interpretation. I want to bring in a philosphical argument titled, The Violinist.

To me this comes down to whether there’s a life there that deserves protection, not only a choice. My opponent’s point about bodily autonomy is fair, and I honestly don’t know how to argue past it, but my gut still says ending that life is wrong.
