I disagree. Whilst true the life of a K-pop idol is EXTREMELY demanding both physically and mentally. There are people dying to be in the position. With any career choice it comes at a cost, is a bit of temporary uncomfortibility not worth it for the fame and money they earn? And the workers go into the industry knowing what the goal is, it is being dressed up as art, it is art and they were fully aware of what goes into becoming the perfect idol before becoming one.

But you are calling it exploitation. Exploitation would imply the girls had limited knowledge of what they were getting themselves into. Exploitation would be someone working for a company that doesnt result in any benefit to them. This industry LARGELY benefits the girls, they have their name made famous, may get passed into other entertainment industries after they finish being idols, they make good money, much higher chance to meet a wealthy and decent man, they can be seletive with the partner they choose, something important in that country. Again you are framing it as criminal and that the company is so evil when it is a two way agreement. WHO signs the contract? who wants it? theres no gun being held to their head. they realise its an amazing opportunity and so they WANT to do it. It is not exploiitation. It IS HARD WORK. Work where you get rewarded for it and generously compensated.

Exploitation isn't the absence of benefit; it's benefit bought with control and disproportionate risk. Sure, the rare star gets famous and paid. "No gun to their head" misses the paradox: desperate desire is exactly what weakens bargaining power. Passion isn't proof of a fair contract; it's leverage for the company.

Exploitation is the act of treating someone or something unfairly or selfishly to gain an advantage, profit, or benefit. I REALLY need to emphasise that it is A SIGNED CONTRACT. they have the full capability to read the contract, discuss it with responsible adults, plan, decide ALL BEFORE SIGNING. No one is forcing anything. You are acting as if they are bound the second they see the contract, and if then they willingly choose to accept the contract it is their doing. Its not like they dont have the alternative option to go and do something else. And you say only some debut, so?? doesnt it take a large effort to make it in ANY worldwide industry? if you wanted to be a professional sports player do you think theres no sacrifice and mental hardship?? There is pain in preparation, because the end goal is desired and far greater then the pain, the benefit is viewed as worth it.
