I think this is this case, because knowing every single move and detail of a person can be a bit too much.

yeah I get what you’re saying a lot of long distance relationships are pulled together with social media that is true but think about this a lot of people start stressing and stuff because whenever you can see that someone’s active on a website or a social media app like for example Snapchat you can see every time that someone is active and sometimes they won’t answer you right away but they’ll be active and that just causes stress and you’ll be like why are you not answering me why are you not answering me but back in the day no one could answer unless it was in person and making that effort to see the person and talk to the person seems like a way better way of connecting than just sending a text you never know if someone’s being genuine in real through a text because it’s just right there as digital they could be anywhere and I think that long-distance relationships should be kept together that’s all about how much they care for each other it shouldn’t be that they have to just text each other every time they wanna talk to each other

I mean social media when I say social media I think of you know Snapchat Instagram TikTok you know maybe messages because it’s newer but email that may not count because that’s been around for a while I need to know that hasn’t been counted as social media necessarily so email could still be around you can still stay in touch with others I just think that certain social media’s ruined it because you know especially like these new fucking tracking apps like Life360 you know Snapchat if you always keep that stuff on and there’s definitely ways to prevent people from knowing you’re every move but it’s just a big change from the 80s you know think about relationships like from the 80s everyone was nice and connected and you know you can just see the sudden shift from GenZ everyone is almost too connected that they get pushed away from each other from how connected they really are and it’s due to social media like the facts from this are in our culture there could be a study and you would see that people are pushed away because of social media

yeah that’s true and you keep bringing up the fact that you’ll be out of touch without social media but that’s not necessarily true like I said relationship relationships real relationship should be about finding ways to talk to each other no matter what and really and I think that social media definitely brings people together well but like I said you can go and find this yourself find this out yourself social media does more harm than good because it you know kind of keeps people connected and it has it more prone for arguments not just because of active status but because of anything they could post something and you know there’s gonna be people hating on it and that happens in real life too but it’s different in real life because a real life connection is way better than one through the screen just in general and being on social media has also kind of stopped people from hanging out in real life as much you know especially after COVID-19 most stuff is literally digital only there’s not people going on as many dates you could see the rates if you look up the rates of restaurants anything movies it’s gone down significantly and it’s easy to blame social media for this in my opinion

then again that’s when an email comes in to play and even phone numbers you know it’s to me that’s a different world from social media you know it’s not really a social app it’s just a way of reaching out to family members and I think that should still be possible you know people overseas but also I think that it should be easier for them to get away across the sea you know I know it’s not cheap but that’s a whole different debate but that’s just what I think
