Sure, esports demands real skill, strategy, and teamwork, and its fans care deeply. But sport has always meant physical athleticism, bodies in motion, sweat, endurance. Clicking and typing fast is impressive, but it is not the same category. And from an ecological view, esports is a power hungry digital industry: gaming PCs, consoles, data centers, and constant hardware upgrades drive electricity use and e-waste. A football pitch needs grass and legs. A server farm needs coal, gas, and rare minerals. That is entertainment, not sport.
