Look at cases like the Central Park Five, where innocent guys confessed to crimes they didn't do. If we had a death penalty for that, they'd be dead. It just feels too permanent for something that can go so wrong.

It's as simple as not admitting to something you didn't do. In other words, you're telling me they lied under oath. All they had to do was sit there. And you know, say they didn't do it. And to make their case. And there would probably be a lot less false. Allegations going around and people to admitting to doing something they didn't even do. If they knew they would die afterwards

You make a fair point about getting rid of real dangers, but I still worry about getting it wrong. Imagine someone falsely accused who can't prove their innocence. Death is so final, and I'm not sure we're smart enough to always know for sure.

While ypu do male a point about knowing for a hundred percent sure. We're never going to get every single thing, right? We are humans after all. However, if this were to be implemented, the total amount of cases would drop drastically, which also would mean the total amount cases of people getting falsely accused would go down even crazierly. Because let's face it, people that falsely accuse people of stuff like this aren't typically wanting to that person to die since their it's a whole false accuse in the first place

You might be right that fewer people would confess if death was on the line, but I still think the risk of executing an innocent person is too high. Once someone's gone, we can't fix that. I just don't trust the system to get it right every single time.
