We all know that a fetus is definitely part of the homo sapiens species. But is it quite a person yet? You see, we define person as an agent CAPABLE of self-governance and moral reasoning which the fetus clearly lacks. We can’t just grant one right because of what species it is, but grant it right because how capable it is in result of being part of its species. It is hard to deny a right to something that looks just like us, but logically, it is not a person and rights are only given to people who has personhood. We can define a person as an entity that possesses moral rights, legal protections, and social responsibilities, while a human being is just a biological term to describe a type of species. For that a fetus is not a person, it does not possess moral rights, legal protection etc.
