Imagine someone born a mile from a border line and told they can never cross it just because of where they were born. That just feels wrong to me, like freedom to move should be basic. I’m not sure how to argue all the details, but my gut says it’s a moral issue.

But that doesn't justify the illegal action of crossing a border. Freedom shouldn't break the law. And when it comes to morality it's immoral to break the law or to skip lines. A world with open borders fails everytime. With open borders we murder the right to culture and nationality.

Isn't there a difference between breaking an unfair rule and doing something truly wrong? My opponent makes a fair point about law and culture, and I honestly don't know how to answer that well. I just still feel movement shouldn't be locked by birth.

But it's not locked. My opponent is implicating that it's impossible to cross borders. With proper documentation and legally crossing borders it proves that it is still possible for freedom of movement without the need if open borders.

Maybe the real question is whether movement should need permission at all. My opponent makes a fair point that legal routes exist, and I’m not sure how to argue that. But needing papers and approval still feels like freedom with a gate, not truly free movement.

As I've stated previously open movement would be the genocide of individual cultures. It also proves that open borders aren't the answers to anything.
