It just feels wrong that someone throwing a ball earns way more than people saving lives or teaching kids. Sure, maybe teams make money, but that doesn't mean the pay makes sense to me. I don't know, it just seems like priorities are off.
They aren't paid more because there work is more important its just us humans would rather look and support a human that hits a ball with a stick then to see a human running in a burning house to save a life... more views gives more revenue to the organizer then they give a fraction of that amount to those athletes
Imagine a school can't afford new books while a star player signs a huge contract. My opponent makes a fair point about attention and revenue, and I'm not sure how to argue that. Still, my gut says priorities just feel off.
Priorities will always be off to a rational mind... but most humans just want a freakshow and random garbage as long as this keeps on going athelets will always stay glorified and get paid shit ton of money
If athletes keep getting these giant deals, the practical result is fans and cities pay more while ordinary needs get squeezed. The other side is probably right that people just love a spectacle. Still, my gut says that kind of pay is just too much.
Put yourself in an athelete shoe.... say because of you your promoter earned 1 million bucks yet you got paid 100k and people say hey look that guy gets paid so much.... yet you are only getting a fraction of your value
