Honestly, my gut says a universal basic income sounds too broad, because sending money to everyone no matter what seems like it would spread help too thin and weaken support aimed at people who need it most. I’m not sure, but that’s my worry.
Doesn’t paying everyone no matter what just spread the help too thin? My opponent probably means well, and I admit I’m not sure how to argue back, but my gut says universal payments would weaken support for people who really need targeted help. That’s all I’ve got.
Obviously thats your gut, Use real logic, at what point has a Minimum wage not helped, Why not make that universal as that would stop Loss of jobs, It would stop Workers Rights Strikes because they would have them what more could we need
The real question is whether a check for everyone actually reaches the neediest. The other side makes a fair point about helping lots of people, and I’m not sure how to argue back, but my gut still says universal payments spread help too thin and undercut targeted support. That’s my worry.
