Mixing that with personal stock picks is an impossible conflict, even if nobody breaks a law on paper. The appearance alone corrodes trust in government. Nobody is banning them from the market entirely; they can hold index funds or use a blind trust. Giving up picking winners in individual stocks is a small price for people wielding that much power.

The game analogy misses the whole point. A friendly game is between equals.
