Children under 16 use social media both as a way of entertainment but also a way of coping. It should be down the parent to enforce punishment, As we have seen the last 3 generations it has been up to the parents to ban things of their children. Also why would we ban Social media when we should crack down on youth crime and vaping.

Honestly, imagine a thirteen year old scrolling late at night and feeling lousy about themselves. That seems like too much pressure for someone that young, and I just think waiting until sixteen is safer. I know it's not a perfect fix, but that's my gut feeling.

This doesn't make sense, A thirteen year old scrolling late on their phone, Thats fine. Allow them to get that life experience. As i said its up to the parents to decide on punishments if a kids up late thats their fault, If they decide to have their kid on socials that should be allowed

I get my opponent's point that parents can set rules, and honestly I'm not sure how to argue with that. But imagine a kid who doesn't have strict parents and stumbles into nasty stuff anyway; waiting till sixteen just feels like a safer default.
