Streaming platforms should be able to host the content they see fit in as far as it doesn't infringe on the copyright material of human artists or violate ethical boundaries which could cause mental or physical harm.
Generated songs, are typically not valued as much as true artists either way.

The whole point of music is that a real person felt something and put it into a song. If an AI just makes it, we're basically drowning out actual artists with endless computer noise that took no human emotion to create. That just feels wrong to me.

Platforms typically tag the genre and make it simple for their users/customers to find the music of their choice, allowing for generated music only supplies a greater audience with something to do (like generating the music) or listen to if they are so inclined.

You make a fair point that platforms can host what they want. But think about someone finally finding a song that really speaks to them, then learning a program made it in minutes. That just takes something away from the music, you know? I still feel AI songs shouldn't be allowed.

Your hypothetical ignores that music can mean something to someone for reasons apart from artistic appreciation. At the moment this phase of digital confusion will inevitably cause certain people to have very finely tuned discernment of AI generated content, like I've mentioned that the platforms tag the genre of the music for reference, people will just be more observant of their content consumption.

I guess that tagging stuff and letting people generate music is a fair point, I can't really argue with that. But still, imagine a song that means the world to someone, then finding out a computer made it in seconds. That just feels hollow to me. I'd rather streaming stay human.
