I think people who say text games are outdated forget how much a good story pulls you in. When there’s no flashy graphics, your own imagination does the work, and that feels more personal than watching cutscenes. Maybe that alone makes them worth another shot.
text based games are what all children grew up on, enjoyed, and went through as a child. Its revival must occur to bring back nostolga and bring a whole generation together. New shooting games are also way too violent, and bringing back these text based games is beneficial
You make a fair point about nostalgia, but saying they’re just a childhood thing misses how much depth they can have. Text games handle tough choices and moral stories better than lots of big titles. I still believe they’d find an audience today.
New video games involving complex storylines, violent scenes, and complicated events are not enjoyable to the masses anymore. It isolates players and they are not able to play with others as well.
I see what you mean about modern games being isolating, and maybe text games don't fix that either. But I still think there's something special about reading a story and filling in the visuals yourself. It's a different kind of connection, even if I can't explain it.
Wait, didn't you just say they deserve a comeback? That's what I've been trying to say. Even if I'm not great at arguing, it feels like we're on the same side here, and that makes me think I'm onto something.
I mean, if you're done then okay, but you literally said earlier they deserve a comeback, which is my whole point. So I'm not really sure what you won. Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems like we agree.
