I just think college sports are supposed to be part of school, not a job. If athletes start getting paid, it feels like everything gets messy, and the whole thing stops being about the team or the school. I get the other side might have a point, but that's just my gut feeling.

Its the college atheletes that mostly get better and better and later represent their cities or countries.... but those were the past times now a days due to inflation and prices hike of almost everything how would even the prodigies stay motivated to pursue sports when they have to work somewhere just to afford there tuition fees

But isn't school supposed to be about learning, not earning? My opponent makes a fair point about motivation, and I honestly don't know how to argue with that. Still, paying players just feels like it would turn college sports into something else.

But thats the point of college sports its to just not only to promote health and exercise but to see if there is any true talent .... thats why they also get scholarships just because of they are very good at sports or not if sports was not seen as anything serious why give them scholarships and if they can give scholarships why not pay them something

Isn't college already a kind of payment in scholarships and exposure? My opponent makes a fair point about money struggles, and I don't really know how to counter that. I just feel paying athletes would change what school sports are.
