You are implying that somehow change is an excuse to not be married, why should modern preferences be an indicator of outdate institution too? Divorce rates are way up in the modern age and its because people are accepting marriage as unneccesary and outdated. It has reduced respect for others in our modern society and it destroys relationships.

Apparently in several places more couples now live together without marrying than with a marriage license, which surprised me. My opponent makes a fair point about structure, and I honestly can't argue back well. It still feels like an outdated box to me.
