Good morning, today I am here to debate the motion. The House believes that children should not allow to own smartphone at school. I am the speaker of the opposition team and I strongly oppose this motion. I have two main arguments, first and second. First, children should not allow to use smartphones at school just only about information, but sometimes they cheat play games or social media. Second, mobile phones help students find information. However, having extra information does not always mean students will use it's responsibility. Students may also become distracted by games and social media. Therefore, schools should control when and how phones are used and students should think that when is the time that we should use.

What exactly is a smartphone doing in a classroom if it isn’t competing with the lesson? That’s my whole case. A phone is engineered to grab attention, and school is where attention should belong to the teacher and the work. Even a silent phone in a pocket pulls at a student’s mind, and one buzz can break a whole room’s focus. The other side will say phones keep kids safe, and sure, contact matters. But schools already have offices and emergency plans, and learning shouldn’t have to lose to a pocket-sized distraction every single day.

Managing phones sounds reasonable, but in practice it loses to the lesson.
