“You keep assuming that AI-generated music automatically means low quality spam.”

The line that won it · highlighted from the winning round

You keep assuming that AI-generated music automatically means low quality spam. That's simply not true. Streaming platforms already deal with millions of low-quality human-made songs every year. The problem is spam, not AI. If platforms can moderate human content, they can moderate AI content too. They also claim AI hurts independent artists, but that's backwards. AI actually lowers the barrier to entry by giving people with limited money, equipment, or musical training a chance to create. Why should creativity be reserved only for those who can afford expensive studios or years of formal training? And let's talk about regulation. Saying it's "too hard" isn't an argument for banning something. Copyright disputes have existed for decades between human artists as well. We don't ban human-made music because enforcement is difficult,we improve the rules. AI should be treated no differently. Finally, the idea that streaming platforms should reward only "human effort" is subjective. Listeners don't press play based on how many hours someone spent making a song—they press play because they enjoy it. Streaming platforms exist to serve listeners, not to judge which form of creativity is more deserving. The issue isn't AI. The issue is misuse. Punish plagiarism, protect artists' rights, and remove infringing content, but don't ban an entire technology because of a few bad examples.
