Look, I get that AI can mimic style and sound slick, but a Grammy is supposed to honor human artistry, emotion, and intent. A machine doesn't feel heartbreak or joy—it just calculates patterns. The Recording Academy's own rules say voters consider "artistic merit," and how do you judge that in something that doesn't experience anything? It's a slippery slope. Once we let AI compete, we're saying technical proficiency matters more than the human story behind the song. That cheapens the whole thing for actual artists.

I do not think AI generated music can win a Grammy. As we know, AI-generated music is made purely by technology. While the music may be flawless (incorporating different beats and rhythms), the AI-generated music is not genuine, it is not from the heart. It is not something written from someone. It is not a message the songwriter wants to convey his or her message to his or her listeners. If an AI can win a Grammy, why compete, knowing that AI is impeccable? The Grammy is not looking for perfection, but sincerity in the song.

Ok fine im doing for. An AI should win a Grammy as this will heightened competition levels between human-made songs and AI-made songs. Moreover, with the increasing prevalence of AI and humanoid robots, voters now of the days may not even be able to differentiate AI-made songs from human-written songs. Also when we say AI-generated music, it need not be purely AI. A songwriter may turn to AI for the generation of ideas, then write his or her song out, composing his or her melody. That being said, statistically speaking an AI generated music is most likely to win a Grammy,because I can’t emphasise enough that AI generated music simply has no flaws. It is the brain of humans, you an even make AI generated music sound sincere. We cannot deny the fact that in this digital age, technology and AI is on the verge of replacing us

Excuse me, your example here is ridiculous. By telling me the struggle of your friend doesn’t do this argument any good. Thats anecdotal, who in the word knows your friend, who in the world cares about your friend? You have completely missed the big picture. We are heading into a world of AI, that is the absolute truth, and your imaginary friend here cannot and should not tweak this reality. I have countless of credible examples of competitions that include the incorporation of AI (writing competitions that also look at sincerity also involve some form of AI element in it such as the John Locke Global Essay Prize - participants are allowed to use AI and write a piece of essay based on the themes given, they are l so judged from sincerity (like song-making)
My friend, please give credible examples. You need o know that not all songwriters struggle the same way and incorporating AI into the song-writing or song-making stage actually pushes the song making process to a greater height, ew are constantly improving the standards of what is called song, so how in the wold can you say that AI generated music do not deserve e credit from Grammy, they are also made by songwriters themselves who are more creative and go out of he way to incorporate AI - do you not want to award their creativity? You will regret your decisions, im sure of that.

I hear you on the John Locke Prize example, but that's a bad comparison. An essay contest letting you use AI for research is not the same as handing a trophy for "Best New Artist" to something that never had a bad day in its life.
You keep saying I'm missing the big picture, but I think you are. Yes, AI is here. Nobody's denying that. But just because something exists doesn't mean we have to give it our highest honor. A Grammy is supposed to be about human expression, not about who used the most advanced tools.
And honestly, calling my friend "imaginary" doesn't make your argument stronger. Every real artist has a story. You're basically saying those stories don't matter as long as the final product sounds clean. That's a pretty cold way to think about art.
