Picture a coworker who keeps their family life vague at the office, not because they're private, but because they've learned that mentioning a same-sex partner can change how people treat them. That's homophobia, and it's a bad deal for everyone. It wastes talent, silences people, and turns ordinary differences into a hierarchy. The other side may say it's about tradition or moral conviction, and people can believe what they like. But belief doesn't get to become a tax on someone else's dignity or safety. Judging people by whom they love tells you nothing about their competence or character, so I'm against homophobia.
