Debate Format
World Schools Debate
World Schools is the format of the WSDC and most national schools circuits: three speakers a side, a mix of prepared and impromptu motions, and a reply speech that re-frames the whole debate.
ArguFight won't give you a three-person team, but it will give you the two things schools debaters never get enough of: reps against an opponent who pushes back, and scored feedback on content, style, and strategy.
What is World Schools (WSDC)?
Two teams of three debate a motion across constructive speeches, rebuttals, and a shorter reply speech delivered by the first or second speaker. Judges score on content (arguments), style (delivery), and strategy (structure and engagement). Motions can be prepared or impromptu.
Skills you can drill here
Content: argument quality
The biggest chunk of a WS score. Practice making arguments that are logically complete — claim, mechanism, impact — not just assertions.
Rebuttal and clash
WS rewards teams that engage. Drill responding to the actual argument on the table, which the AI rubric scores directly.
Strategy and structure
Signpost, weigh, and tell the judge why your side wins. Practice the framing moves a reply speech makes.
Impromptu thinking
Half of WS motions are impromptu. ArguFight's instant matchmaking drops you into fresh topics so you build range.
ArguFight is 1v1 and AI-judged — we do not simulate a three-speaker WS team, reply speeches, or a live audience. We drill the component skills (content, rebuttal, strategy, impromptu range) so you walk into practice sharper.
